Snowstorms that is. The Great Storm of 1975 (also known as the Super Bowl Blizzard). Chicago streets are not the best place to be when this happens -- even in your car.
Good news for me: On these shots, I don't have to worry about fixing the specks of dust on the negatives in the scans.

Well... Today is December 15. It's sunny, It's 45 degrees. We haven't experienced a winter like '75 or '79 since. The Chicago blizzard of 1979 brought 2 to 3 feet of snow. The poor response and recovery by the city famously caused the mayor (Bilandic) to be defeated by Jane Byrne in the primary.

Sorry to be a bit late! Just came across these and they put me in mind of Stieglitz’s New York City snow scenes.

I was born in California but lived in Denver in my teen years and remember days like that, learned to drive in that stuff. That is why I don't live there anymore. :-)
