The Pacific Flyway....
....is becoming very active with winter waterfowl migrants. During last weeks visits to the Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge complex I realized that my fascination with raptors can cause me to treat the major players here as background subjects. The Snow, Ross's, White-fronted and Canada geese along with Northern Pintails, Mallards, Northern Shovelers and many less common species of ducks visit each year in the millions and they are the reason for these refuges. I need to pay them more attention....wait, was that a hawk!

The first shot is such a cool shot. I love the DL. I feel the same way about raptors. Gary
Lovely. I gotta get out there.
Excellent images. Love the goose where you caught one foot up. Must be exciting to see that many birds together.

I'ver heard say the raptors follow the bait. See a lot of bait and you are going to find the raptors.
Great pictures. Yes, guys have wondering eyes, a fowl trait.
Fantastic series, Phil and loved each one and the first pano is so awesome with all those birds in the air and am sure that just about anyone that has viewed such can almost hear their wings and the sounds of their calls---what an experience!
Thanks, and take care!
