Accuracy counts: The bicyclist rode from a private parking lot into the side of the trailer part of the truck. It was not the trucker's fault. I am a recreational bicyclist (recumbent trike) and for personal reasons I'm always interested in bike/car accidents.

Thank you, the article I read didn't give the details just that he was hit by a trucker and the trucker wasn't aware anyone was hit.

My sympathies for a life cut short too soon. As a father and grandfather I can only imagine how his family feels. My heart goes out to them as well.

Thank you,

Dear Sir (Andy), I cannot imagine what heartache your family have been going through in the loss of your children. I'm starting to cry just thinking about it. We have two beautiful children, Adam who is 40 and just gave us a Grandson on 11/25 River and Danielle who is 32. We have come very close to loosing both of them at different times; my son when he lived in Denver Co, and was attacked by 3 thugs which cracked his skull with a pipe wide enough to place a dime in it over 2 inches long, and our daughter when a woman pulled directly in her cars path. She would have died without her seat belt being buckled. Please accept my sincerest thoughts and prayers for peace. I pray that your heats will be at rest knowing that they are in a place which knows no pain, suffering or tears only happiness and love until you see them again.

Thank you all for your kind thoughts. I didn't intend to divert this discussion to our loss - it's just that the sad deaths of others' children affects me disproportionately these days.

I am glad that those of you who have faith are comforted by it. Sometimes I wish I did, but we don't. Our children live on in the memories we have, and those we pass on to others. That's our eternity and our boys' legacy. It's a good one.

Andy

The pain just don’t really diminish, we just get use to it

The link below is for a Flicker page of a young man who I did not know personally.
The reason I posted this is at 5:30 AM this morning a truck hit and killed him on US route 30 slightly east of Lancaster,Pa.
He was a 26 years old, a student, and on his bicycle which had a headlight and a flashing tail light at the time he was hit.
After reading the article in the morning news. I came across this page of his.Apparently Photography was his passion.
I thought that possibly some of you would like to see his Photos as he will never take anymore.

Is incredible how many talented people lose their life because of accidents that could be avoided if carefulness would be exercised and the link above is one of the many proofs off that. This victim for sure was a very talented photographer and his life was cut short. Thank you for sharing the article, polonois.
