One end attaches to the camera. The other end points at the subject. The rest, you really don't need to worry much about.

Maybe you should point out which end attaches to the camera📷☺️.

Make sure you set the aperture to f22 or the camera will give you a fEE error.

I don't know, polished glass is pretty shiney.

I looked at my manual and it didn't say what that error was. The manual is pretty thick only because it is written in every language known, including ancient greek and elfish. It has the usual precautions that most products have such as: Don't use in the shower or bathtub. Use extreme caution while standing in a pool of gasoline. Don't use your wet hands on the lens(which will probably make this lens less than suitable for home porn projects). My favorite is don't pee on an electric fence. It also has specs and what cameras it can be used on. Not much on how to mount it or usage, except for what the M/A switch is for. Good luck in your quest to find out what that error is.

Try this; it's for the D version:

http://download.nikonimglib.com/archive2/HEzFG00Jj7zi02k5hGg06wuiSj75/AF50_1.8D_CH(80_DL)09.pdf

Documentation of the prior version AF 50mm isn't available from Nikon anymore but you might find something on the web if you google for it.

There is a Nikon support site for may of their products here: https://downloadcenter.nikonimglib.com/en/index.html
