I traveled north of Seattle to Samish Island yesterday looking for raptors. While there, I came across five bald eagles feasting on a dead mallard. Two where fully mature eagles and three were juveniles. I had a good time watching them fight over the poor dead duck and these are a few of the best shots I got over the course of about ten minutes. After that they flew off with the duck well out of my range. Later, near the end of the day, I had one opportunity at a Short-Eared Owl. These are my two best from that single fly-by. I waited at least another half hour for it to fly back but it never happened. The sun went down and I went home. These shots were all taken with a Nikon D500 outfitted with a Tamron 150X600mm G2 lens. Thank you for taking a look at these images. I look forward to any comments you may wish to leave.

All are terrific...especially like the owls!
These are all beautiful images. I especially like the first one of the owl. Now I am encouraged to head out to our local bird refuge with my G1 version of that lens.

Moments where skill met opportunity. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful shots. Thanks for sharing
Great! First owl shot truly breath taking.
Thanks for all the comments. In line with a question I posted earlier today about using VR panning (VR position 2) when using this lens, I probably should have mentioned I had VR turned on and the switch on position 2 (panning) for all these shots. I have no clue if it helped or not.
Amazing. Those eagles are so unmannerly! Owls are great, too.
