Comparing Images

Hi Hoggers.

I hope this isn't a dumb question but here goes;
On my PC I want to compare (side by side) 2 jpg images that I PP'd using 2 different s/w sources.
Is there something out there that would allow me to just pull up these images without
having to go through a lot of manipulating?

Thanks, Greg.

Which software do you use? Many have the ability to display more than one photo on the editing screen simultaneously. Also, which version of Windows is on your PC?

Look for the "compare" command in your tools.

Take any viewer and open two instances in Windows. Resize them to sit side by side.

You should even be able to open the two editing programs you used and resize them to fit side by side.

Most people I know open every program full screen. The resize button in the upper right hand corner of most programs is too often overlooked.

Most editing programs will allow you that and its usually very simple, but differs from program to program, in PS for example, you can just drag images side by side and do what you want to do

LR Classic CC has a compare command. I utilize 2 monitors and compare on the second one

You can do this in windows quite easily. Open File Explorer (Win-E) and select picture 1. Then hit Win-[left arrow] to make it the left half of the screen. Repeat with the second image but hit Win-[right arrow] to make it the right half of the screen. Works with any programs.

FastStone is excellent. You can easily compare two or more photos side by side, enlarge them as well. And it’s free! I’ve been using it for years.

Excellent program for free; I used it for years. Many great features such as organizes your photo by date during downloading, batch resizing/renaming, 1 click enlargement for viewing, 1 click to access external softwares, 1 click to copy photo to a selection of folders, quick simply editor, beside photo comparison which I believe should be viewed on the same monitor, because I find it very difficult to tune two monitors to identical(even same brand of different models).

Live and learn. My jpg images default to Irfanview which opens a new instance for each one selected from explorer. They split the screen just like you said.
