This is the 5th year of the 4 teams college playoffs system. The selection committee has picked the top teams. They are #1 Alabama, #2 Clemson. #3 Notre Dame, and #4 Oklahoma. Oklahoma lost one game. The others were undefeated teams. Number 4 will play #1, and #3 will play #2. Ohio State and Georgia were hoping to be selected. They will otherwise, get an attractive Bowl Game. Ohio State defeated #4 Michigan easily. They also defeated Northwestern for the Big Ten Conference Championship. But, an earlier defeat by Purdue University, an unranked team, probably was the reason Ohio State was not considered?

That's the primary reason why OSU was not selected, but their porous defense, and possibly political issues pertaining to Urban Meyer's problems last summer were also factors.

Notre Dame does NOT belong in here. They are not in a conference, and play in no conference championship.

And again University of Central Florida is ignored after 25 games without a loss. They are really ready to join the "big boys". At their last championship game against Memphis they were outstanding.

I’m definitely not a Norte Dame fan, some might even categorize me as a “hater” but this year they actually lived up to the hype with some impressive wins.

As for the selection, I could argue against it. For years, the NCAA kept the Big 12 out of the playoff because they didn’t have a conference championship game. Now they have one, hence Oklahoma gets in. If not for that game they may have chosen Georgia or Ohio State. BUT Notre Dame has a huge following and will draw a huge TV audience and that has a lot to do with the selection.

I thought for sure when the starting QB went down in the fourth down by 7 the game was over. I forgot who the back up was. I thought it was a great finish. I would love to see ND win it all.

This should be tested. They should have a bowl game against one of the two "could have been" teams -- Georgia or Ohio State. Unfortunately those teams generally get locked into a top bowl that pits one of the big conferences against another big conference like the Rose Bowl does. I would love to see them play Georgia but most likely will not happen.

If you are going to devote 3 hours of TV time to talking about the selection process you have implied the need for an eight or twelve team playoff to let the teams do the selection. The committee selection is inherently flawed and wins and losses ought to be the sole criteria.

Football no longer is a "sport". Hasn't been for quite a while. It's BIG business. Money $$$$$$$$.

A poor Michigan fan. :-(

As if that makes a difference...
What does that tell you about the Selection Board?
