Having been in the tropics and coming out of air conditioning into the cloying conditions, my lens immediately misted up. Could not resist this shot. It is certainly not a vignette! I was using a 16-35 (brilliant) lens.

So the hood wasn't even on the lens? I was going to point out that the darkened shape resembles the design of the hood, and wondered if evaporation of moisture on the inside of the hood could have clouded the image somehow. But it didn't seem possible for a cloud to mask so completely. Weird, I hope someone comes up with an answer.
