Made a kettle of chicken gizzard soup last week. My mother made it frequently as I grew up.

We only fed the chicken innards to the dog, and i had to leave the house when they were being cooked, couldn't stand the smell.

When times were lean I use to make chicken soup with necks and gizzards and it was delicious. You could get them for about 15 cents a pound.

I'll eat the gizzards, heart and liver, fried. Will also eat beef liver and heart. Afraid my brother will not touch any of them. However, rabbit liver is much better than any of these. Unfortunately it is almost impossible to find rabbit in Southern California now. Used to be able to find it years ago. Love fried rabbit.

Funny how things effect people differently. As a hunter I probably have field dress 100 or more deer between mine and for others that are a little squeamish. No problem with that at all. Love beef liver. But, rabbit now that's another story. I don't know what it is about a rabbit when cut open to dress but to field dress a rabbit I will be urping my insides out and hollering "Ralph:::: bring my B-U-I-C- K". It's something about that smell. So needless to say eating one is out of the question.

Never have had "fresh" rabbit. Only from a grocery store. Don't hunt.

Pickled gizzards are probably something you will find on the bar of a beer joint along with pickled, boiled eggs and pickled pigs feet...at least in the South.

Along with the pickled patrons at the bar.

I have always loved gizzards. I've never tried them with noodles, sounds wonderful.

Chicken gizzards and noodles!

Never have eaten them, but, I guess, like snails (Escargo) I learned to enjoy eating during vacation trips to France, I could learn to like them.

I have field dressed rabbits when I was a kid and hunted but don't remember the smell getting to me. As for snails I have seen my brother in law eat them in Germany but I don't think I would ever have any desire to eat them myself except in a survival situation. You can eat a lot of things there that you ordinarily wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole.

I ate snails the first time when I was pretty hammered. Thought when you bit into them they would go squish. Funny they have a consistency more like shrimp and are quite tasty. Have had them several times since when I was sober. Again, quite good.
