Nice candid, but the shots lacks a little contrast and could use better posing if it were used for promotional purposes as in someone's portfolio. Not 100% sure how to get the horses head up during a shoot other than maybe feeding the horse a bit before the shot so the horse doesn't want to munch the grass. As for the model posing her in a better pose to straighten the legs and stand up straight would help. I have shot brides with their horses and pets Once I get the bride posed I then try to get the pet to pose if possible. Animals do tend to do what they do naturally. Like this horse nibbles on the grass.
I love it ! I think the lady and horse are posed perfectly. The horse is gorgeous as is the young lady. It would have been nice not to see the barn. In the back ground tho👍😉
Nice family photo and subjects and composition. Have you tried any post-processing with it? On my screen, it shows a lack of contrast and perhaps a color cast?

I don't see where critique was requested.
A little criticism never hurt anyone - in this case it made me take a second look at this picture and yes, it lacked some contrast and needed a bit of extra tweaking.
About the picture itself - it was purely a candid shot taken during a lull in the afternoon's activities. I liked the effect of Stephanie and Roxie facing in different directions - in the original image Steph was looking at her husband who was walking away - I cropped him out as being a distraction. I used the "Aged Photo" preset to achieve the muted effect which is why it needed a little added contrast. As to the barn, it gives context to the farm setting and also some extra color.
So, anyway, thanks for all the comments and constructive criticism - all much appreciated!
I'm including the new and hopefully improved version of the original post.

I really like the photo...but...
I would lighten it just a tad....and...
The tree trunk showing under the horse really bothers me...
Tom
I like the photo as is, although it is very possible I would like it more with additional contrast.
