So well done! In answer to your question: a very large one, maybe a B52.

Jim, all I can say is it will be BIG and Heavy. May never feed unless it is a sugar factory.

Hah! I should've foreseen the 'Iron Maiden - Iron Butterfly' responses, and maybe even the 'Transformer' reference, too (caterpillars become Bumblebees? who'da thought...), but Vicki.......? B52? If you meant to stick with the music related references others did, then 'B52' would maybe morph this nice, sedate --and certainly not vicious-- little Caterpillar into what? a 'Rock Lobster.' Why not? Works for me.

Apart from the weirdness above, thanks folks. Happy you like the Rock-Lobster-to-be in its native stompin' grounds.

Cany, I think that Vicki's B52 reference was for the bomber, and not the band. Great shot in any case.

You're probably right, SJ, but where I was stationed, we mostly only had F-4c's & choppers & such. Bombers were all somewhere else, so we didn't think about 'em all that much.

Very nice picture! Fortunately, these do not become butterflys, they stay as insects. They are know as the "National Insect of Saudi Arabia" because they are ubiquitous there.

A friend of mine was stationed in Northern Thailand where they got the planes ready for raids on the Nam.
