Wonderful job Brent. Very nice photographs of truly remarkable sand designs. The thing that strikes me is that these beautiful designs are created "by hand"...just sticks and rakes and a very precise eye. You can be proud of your work, and if you have any contact with the artist, please extend our appreciation to him, too. Hope you're having a great week. jak

A couple of days ago I was blessed to watch a sand design be performed right in front of my eyes. Fortunately I had the camera and asked the artist permission to take a few photos. These are the most interesting of the session.
Downloading the photos really helps in seeing more detail.

Nice shots, wonder what they would look like in BW. Neat way to spend the day.

Nice set of photos. You seem to be where the action is on a regular basis. Which is a good thing for us who learn from you.

Brent, amazing pics of amazing interlocking circles. Talk about having a "good eye" try to draw something like that freehand on ANY scale. We are blessed that He sends us folks from time to time to cause us to pause and reflect. He has done this for you and you have passed it on to us. Thanks to your "good eye" for art and its presentation as art for others to enjoy. Amazing indeed, amazing.

BrentHarder, next you are going to show me that Crop Circles are Man-Made. Will you leave me with no mystical beliefs?? Please, no more revelations. Last year a friend and I went hiking... the body of a girl with Golden Locks was being malled by Popa Bear, Mama Bear, and the three Little Bears... from what was left of the face it was obvious that she had just eaten their pease porridge.

dpullum, thanks for the laughs..........you have started my day off on a wonderful first step!

Another great set. Someday I want to come out to California and follow you around for a couple of days. You find the most interesting places for photo opportunities while taking wonderful story telling photographs.

Jim-Pops, I would be happy to take you around (and any of my other UHH friends too) on my photo excursions. THere is always something fun to shoot here. I will be your personal guide.

Lucky day for you to be able to see this being built. I can't imagine how he got the circles so perfect; I can't even draw a perfect circle with paper and pencil. You captured the art and artist very well. Did you offer to send him pictures?

Yes, I did offer to send him photos. I was about to launch my kayak and return later. He said he would put his Instagram info in the sand for me, but I totally goofed up and forgot when take note of it when I returned. Here is a link to see MORE amazing sand art designs:

The question is - why do you think it was necessary to ask the "artist" for permission to take pictures, when it's a public beach?

Often times I do not ask permission, but out of courtesy I did ask for permission. When I do that, I have never been turned down in the past, so it's all good!
