Did you shoot in RAW only? If so you may be looking at a RAW file or a base image generated from a RAW file. Raw files often appear rather flat until you start adjusting them.

Also how are you viewing the pictures? In what program?

The camera probably has a setting for color: Vivid, not vivid, over-done - whatever. There is also post processing.

I understand the request for pictures for evaluation, but don't understand the respect comment. Unnecessary.

Try taking shots with the sun behind the leaves (shining through them). Back lighting :)
Work even better when the leaves are wet.

Have some respect for Admin and post photos in the Gallery please.

There is a bit of ambiguity in the descriptions for the use of the various sections on UHH. The Main Photography Discussion section is for “anything photography related” which is a pretty wide open field. The Photo Gallery is a “show me yours and I’ll show you mine and we can criticize/praise your work” kind of place. The Photo Analysis forum is for “scrutinizing and discussing specific issues” with a photo, such issues could cover a wide spectrum from artistic to mechanical (equipment choices/capabilities).

A first time user can easily get confused about where best to post his question. I’m certainly no veteran of this site, but I’ve been confused about which forum I should post to. This users post, in my view, certainly shouldn’t go in the Gallery - he’s looking for technical assistance, so IMO the Main Photography section is appropriate even if he does attach a photo.

You will be amazed at how a little post processing will bring out the hidden colors.

If he is shooting in Raw, setting the camera to vivid will not make a difference.

It happens all too often, and it's not called for. Some new photographer to this site is just asking a simple question to get some feedback about something they don't understand and along comes #### running off at the mouth(keyboard) with inappropriate comments. I was under the impression that this site was about sharing our experience and skills with other upcoming photographers. My mother always taught us when we were kids, if you can't say something nice, don't say anything.
I think that the administrators or monitors of this site need to put out a warning to the person(s) making unwelcome comments that if they continue to make crass remarks they will be banned from this site. I for one am sick and tired of having to see inappropriate comments.

If you shot RAW, pictures will look flat. They will require post processing.
