Mockingbird at the Birdbath

Well since I have at least one hawk hanging around in the area I have nearly zero birds in my yard most of the day. Even the squirrels just make dashes to steal bird food and then back into their tree next door.

So I am going through shots I hadn't done anything with lately. This is one from my trials of my new Tamron 150-600 G2 with my 80D.
This Mockingbird visited the feeders, checked out a few potted plants and a lawn chair and landed on the rim of the birdbath for a drink. I have a few other decent shots of this bird but as usual most shots of an active bird exploring are not usable by my standards. Bad pose, half in shade, half in light, partly hidden by something. Even on this one I was shooting under the old pool slide from about 40 feet to the slide and around 55-60 to the bird and had to clone in plants to fill the entire upper right quadrant where there was just an off white out of focus blur of the underside of the slide.

Looks good to me, Jerry, and what a beautiful bird! The mockingbird in our yard is named Butterbean, and now you know what silly folks we are.

Thanks
Would the name have anything to do with its favorite place to hunt bugs in your garden? I seem to remember bean plants attract more then their fair share of bugs, worms etc.

Thanks a lot

Keep looking, all but the extreme NE of New York State is in either their year round territory or summer breeding territory.

No, it's because 'butterbean' seems to be his favorite phrase. lol One year we had a mockingbird that learned to mimic an emergency siren.

Thanks, yes I like them also.
Year before last we had a pair living in a tree next door and one or both spent a large part of the night singing. My wife insisted that I close the windows and turn up the fan and or AC.
