Wow, these photos are stunning, such beautiful vistas and the fall colors add to the images. It does look like it would be a very very long hike if one does not have access to a jeep.

Very nice. I've been wanting to go there myself, but in my advanced age, I'd never be to hike and probably not drive it either. It's nice to see it without much effort on my part.

Great shots --the mill perched on the rocky outcrop in particular-- but even though my Jeep would get me there with no problem, I simply refuse to go places I can't rent a pig. Its important to have standards, after all.

It is good to know some people still hold fast to the same high standards I was taught and still believe in. My disappointment was boundless at not being able to rent a pig...nearly ruined the entire adventure. 😪

No one in their right mind drives this themself, even with the proper vehicle. There is a Jeep Tour Company that provides transportation with drivers that have made the journey for years. There are 3 & 5 hour tours..beginning in Marble: Crystal River Jeep Tours

There is a jeep tour company in Marble that can take you there...Crystal River Jeep Tours. As you go up the nasty, untended road, you come across hikers tredging their way up. As it is a dusty mess, they get lost in the fog of dirt as each vehicle passes...many of which are ATV’s who fly by uncaring of the poor souls on foot. Hiking it would require goggles and a week-long post shower.
