Sunset Hill Park above Shilshole Bay is a beautiful area for great photos and views of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains. Not too far from The Ballard Locks.
Wow! I used to live there and (when a lot younger) jogged by that same fence most mornings!
IF you're going to be using a rental car and don't mind a bit of driving (under 100 miles from Seattle) AND you get a clear day;
Little Mountain in Mt. Vernon offers excellent views. Unpaved road but usually in good repair
Ditto for Mt. Erie south of Anacortes. Paved road all the way to the top with plenty of parking and a great viewing area. On a really clear day you can see all the way to Mt St Helens.
While you're this far north swing over to La Conner. Great little town with wonderful eateries, boat rides, and photo ops
IF you don't mind going a bit further take Hwy 20 east bound to the Ross Lake overview.
Last, keep going up I5 to Bellingham, take the first exit and go to Fair Haven. Dos Padres has great food and Margaritas. The Village Books has great ice cream cones. When you're ready to head back take Marine View Drive.

Take the foot ferry $17 for two adults to Bainbridge Island and back. Spending a bit of time in Bainbridge is easy and walkable since it has one small main town center. If you time your ferry return trip from Bainbridge back to Seattle you can get some phenomenal shots of Mt Rainier and the Seattle skyline. If the day is at least partly sunny then a trip to the Cascades (Mt Rainier) might be well worth the drive. If you are ambitious a drive to the Pacific coastal area is nice. The Kalalock area and northward is probably the most scenic.
I am 92 years old and was born in Seattle. I have traveled the world and can say with a great deal of pride that Seattle (and the State of Washington) is on the top of the list of great cities. Come and visit. Take your time and enjoy all that we have - lakes - mountains - rivers - forests - deserts All of the suggestions given in other posts are very worthwhile. Enjoy!!! Zing444
If you have the time, take a day trip to Victoria, BC on the hydrofoil ferry. It's a great trip and Victoria is a lovely little town. It's "walkable", once you get there. Time it right and you can have afternoon tea at the Empress Hotel.

And don't overlook Edmonds. We're right on the water, have a ferry to Kingston that you can walk on, our summer market runs on Saturdays through October (9:00-2:00). And you can attend one of the Rick Steves lectures--Thursday evenings and Saturdays (10:00 and noon).
https://www.ricksteves.com/travel-tips/travel-classes/travel-class-descriptionsWe're 30 minutes North of Seattle. (Depending on traffic. :))
Although it is several hours each way, Mt St Helen and the Johnston Observatory were amazing. You do need a fairly clear day to make the most of it.
Kerry Park for spectacular views of the skyline and Mt. Rainier. Go towards sunset and stay for the night lights.

Rent a car and travel 60 miles south to the capital in Olympia. Farmers market, Olympia docks, Tumwater falls, lots and lots of trails through forests
I find it funny, no one asked you what kind of photography you want to shoot, street, landscape, etc. Seattle has a ton to offer just walking downtown, and as many suggested places and parks to go to I am sure you will find plenty to shoot. Just be aware Seattle has a huge homeless population and a VERY liberal attitude so don’t wear your Trump t-shirt or you may have to run like hell!!!
"VERY liberal attitude"
What ever caused you to think and write that!! (grinning as I write)
Because I live in Washington state and I have to deal with the fact that everyone thinks the whole state is a bunch of liberal Birkenstock wearing bleeding heart gun haters who want to be a sanctuary for everyone!!
