I just learned something today I didn't know.
Vera Lynn was an artist/singer who performed for the troops during WWII and was extremely popular with the UK.
She turned 101 years of age in March and is estimated to be worth approximately $150 million dollars.
I listened to the song VERA on the Album The Wall by Pink Floyd many times not knowing Vera Lynn was a real person.
I guess this puts the question asked by Pink FLoyd to rest.... "Vera, Vera, what has become of you?"
After taking care of my mother for several years before her death. I had to play that song Vera.
I still love that song, and miss the finest women I ever knew.
I once heard the hardest commandment for some to follow is...."Thou shalt honor thy mother and thy father."

It's funny how you listen to and enjoy certain songs for many years not knowing their true meaning.
Wikipedia has a nice write-up of Vera Lynn:

Most famous was her song, We’ll meet again, is a classic for WWII. Look it up and listen carefully to the words. It might bring a tear.

One of her songs, The Thing-Ummy Bob is used today in the UK for an advert for Square Card payments.
As well as the troops, she paid tribute to the people in the service industry that kept the military 'machine' running.
The words go:-
I'm the girl that makes the thing
that drills the hole that holds the ring
that drives the rod that turns the knob
that works the thing-ummy bob

Thats cool. Explains the Pink Floyd line
"Remember how she said that
We would meet again
Some sunny day?"

If one knows Pink Floyd; one knows that everything Roger Waters writes is deep.
I finally remembered where I just heard her sing we’ll meet again. It was at the end of King Kong skull island. The new one.
Hi,
My father was a professional ballroom dancer for a while and told me that he was her dance partner for some time . Only spoke well of Her .
her last album was released 2017 at the age of one hundred. Must be some kind of a record, pardon the pun.

I have been playing "Vera" from The Wall in my head since yesterday morning.
