My wife and I are going to the Biltmore and the Chihuly exhibit this weekend. I would like to give my neutral density filter a work-out with some steams and falls. Any locations of moving or falling water would be appreciated. Thank you! Dennis
Suggest you take a look at this site - wncwaterfalls.info
While I don't have one, I know a map is available of western NC waterfalls. Should be available at tourist info or chamber of commerce locations in and around Asheville.
Enjoy your trip.

https://explorebrevard.com/. There are many waterfalls not far from Brevard, NC, about 30 min south of the Biltmore. My favorites include Looking Glass Falls, and the falls on the Little River in Dupont state forest. Also consider getting up early for sunrise on the Blue Ridge Parkway. My favorite spot is Pounding Mill overlook at mile 413.2.

You will be going to "God's Country." IMHO, some of the most beautiful sights, sounds, tastes and smells in America.
I personally like Rt. 276, from Waynesville to Brevard, the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Arboretum, and of course the craft breweries. Plenty of landscapes, rivers/streams, etc.
You might want to find a copy of:
North Carolina Waterfalls by Kevin Adams
Subtitle is: Where to find them and how to photograph them. Just saw a used copy on line for $4.
I use this book and it is very helpful.
Check out water falls in eastern US and you will find tons of them on your computer
I haven't tried this site on the east coast, but did use it a bit while in Hawaii last month and on other vacations in areas that I'm not familiar with....you simply put in the city, state and zip code or other identifying info as to where you are and it brings up lots of suggested things to shoot. The site is called "shot hot spots" and the web address is

Take your polarizer filter too. I went last year to the Dupont Forest looking for the falls on my way to SC. There are three within walking distance. Stop by the visitor center to get more information. I made it to the Triple Falls, which is the one shown in the photo. And after you take all the photos, just sit and contemplate all that water falling. It is like therapy.

There are many falls and streams especially west of Asheville as well as throughout the mountains in the area. Have fun and post some for us all to see.
These 2 sites will tell you more than need to know. His wonderful stories and photos will inspire and lead you through this area better than any other I have seen. Hope you enjoy your upcoming trip!
Come to Transylvania County a mere 20 mi to find the most beautiful waterfalls
search the above you won't be disappointed

I know Great Falls, (Northern) Virginia May be more distance from Baltimore than you may want to travel but the Great Fall is a great place for taking photos of roaring waters. See attached photo.
