Feline sailors are an unusual and heroic group but there must be limits, even for them! I hope they take advantage of any remaining fair weather since they have such a beautiful area for sailing!

Thanks, Carol. They’re sailing their fuzzy little hearts out, but they’re well aware the moderate weather isn’t going to last, and those coats are getting thicker day by day.

Pleased you enjoyed this one, a gorgeous harbor in southern Maine. Thanks for your kind comments and visit, always much appreciated!

Great shot Treepusher, loved the download

Thanks, Greg. A beautiful New England harbor, and the sunset complements the scene. Glad you enjoyed it.

Thanks as always for your kind comments and visit, it’s much appreciated!

Well count your blessings that the Ministry will at least go outside. I've got a primadonna who hates outdoors and will take extreme measures to stay inside on a perfect day. lol The end of summer makes me sad, but your gorgeous image certainly doesn't. Absolutely beautiful work, Randy.

Thanks, Donna. I shoot this scene a lot, largely because the best chowder house in Maine sits on the pier from which this was taken, lol. And by a strange coincidence, it's often supper time when I arrive! Dinner is served with more atmosphere than anyone has a right to ask for, and I usually finish up just about the time the sun starts to set.

Odd how that happens. One might even suspect it's planned, lol!

Thanks for your very kind comments and visit, I'm always grateful!

Maine...the way life should be, especially when kept safe by the Ministry fleet! Lovely scene, Randy.

Thanks, Linda. There's no place like Maine--repeat three times and click the heels of those ruby slippers! Sometimes it works, lol, and I find myself there. Like this past weekend, and just in time for a couple of really nice sunsets. Glad you enjoyed this one.

I, myself, always sleep much better just knowing the Ministry cats are keeping watch, the fleet ready at all times. Well, most of the time, anyway. And one never knows what evil lurks out there, just waiting for its chance to strike.

Thanks for the kind comment and your visit, I always greatly appreciate it!

The sun goes down on another summer season at the island home of the Ministry of Mayhem, somewhere here in Maine. The days are growing shorter, the nights growing colder. Soon no one but the hardiest of lobstermen will be out on that water. Except, of course, the heroic feline sailors of the mighty Ministry Fleet, ready at a moment's notice to sail into harm's way.

Okay, maybe two moments, as being quite truthful, they're really not too happy about going out in freezing weather, and sometimes it takes a little push to get them going.

Nice shot Randy and I'll need a huge push LOL.

Very nice! We just had the hottest September on record with the heat index over 100 every day.

Thanks, Jack, lol. The 'heroic feline sailors' of the Ministry fleet spend most of the winter belly-up in front of the wood stove, and it's pulling teeth to get them to do their sea-duty. Fortunately, the Ministry floors keep me so busy in the winter I rarely have time to step outside, so the cold isn't much of an issue. But everyone else claims it's awful! ; )

Thanks for the laugh and your visit, always very much appreciated!

Thanks, Angler. About as picturesque as New England harbors can get, and the sunsets there are always amazing! Glad you enjoyed the shot, and thanks as always for your kind comment and visit, it's very much appreciated!

Thanks, nimbushopper. Same here--records all summer long. Most nights above 70F, most humidity, hottest summer and September on record (90s and humid even midway into the month). Not something to be proud of. But we survived. Fall (and color) is delayed up to two weeks, due to the high temps. We may be at peak on Thanksgiving! Amazing!

Thanks for your kind comments and visit, always very much appreciated!

Thanks, MT. As hot as this summer has been, one can only hope that warmth will translate to a mild winter. But you never know. Winter is not something I look forward to, but there are two positives--no humidity, and no bugs!

As for the scene, it's one of my favorite places to go in Maine (the seafood on the pier where this was taken is as good as the view, and you can't beat the 'atmosphere,' lol). I feel sad coming back to my real life in Massachusetts, lol. But at least I get a few nice shots each year to get me thru the winter!

Thanks for your kind comments and visit, they're always much appreciated!

That’s a nice photo, it does look like the beginning of cold, and it take a good push to get me going in the cold, too, though I used to like it when I was young and foolish.
