Even though I swore I would never start a thread like this one, here it is. My wife has a sewing machine, (if you can call it that at a cost of about $12,000.00) that will create patterns loaded on to it via thumb drive. However, it will not take one larger than one gigabyte. She has tried linking it to her laptop with a usb cord, but that doesn't work.
In this age of more, more, more, where do I find a one gig drive?

On a side note, my brother-in-law, a millionaire, uses an old Kodak digital point and shoot. (Maybe that's why he's a millionaire) His camera will only work with a 2 gig SD card. Can't find one of them, either.

My older Nikon d50 would only use cards smaller than 2 gig

Try partitioning the drive into 1gb with remainder being non used. Instructions on the net.

Adorama has a LenMar Lap Kit on closeout for $9.99. It has a bunch of other stuff but does include a 1gb thumb drive. They are closed now but you can still place an order and it will ship early October.

I appreciate all the help, I figured that it was probably a victim of progress.

In the last 5-10 years I have been approached by several people who were after parts and assistance with sewing machines, overlockers etc. Seems that either people are getting a lot of use out of their devices or the manufacturers of the machines are either going bust or not bothering to build in some future proofing or keeping them up-to-date (especially bad are those machines that will only work with a really old OS as the controller). Usually you can't help them because it is not quite the field you do have knowledge about. However I do know that often people do sell used lower capacity cards just to get rid of them. In the past I have ended up with heaps of small capacity cards and I add a single mid capacity card as a carrot and usually find somebody to buy the collection. So I suggest keeping an eye open for used cards. Sometimes it might take a while but eventually something will come up.
This same kind of issue happens with what was originally high end studio recording equipment where they will only work with gear 20 years old.

MY wife has a similar machine, 2 G limit, she has mine, BTW some 4 G drives with only a few files will work, might want to try that, Bob.

Can the memory in the sewing machine be added too, I had the same issue with one of my HP wide format plotters, I added Ram in the plotter itself and it took care or the problem.

I found both available on The Wish app two one gig thumb drives for $5.00 including shipping; One two Gig SD card $5.00 including shipping. Shipping is from China and takes three to five weeks but if you can't find them otherwise at least they are available. You'll find a number of name brand SD cards up to 2 TB at ridiculous prices because you're bypassing the wholesaler.
