I will be spending about 2 weeks in upstate New York visiting friends and relatives and taking in the fall colors. I have a camera that needs the sensor cleaned but I can't get it done locally before I leave. Can anyone recommend camera stores in the Albany or Syracuse/Utica area?
I use B&H, Adorama and used KEH. excellent information, great customer service
Good Luck
Brock
Try B&H Photo in New York City. You may also want to ask them to show you how to do it yourself for the future. It is not as difficult as it seems.
Both B&H and Adorama are closed for Succos Holiday through October 2nd.
A Google search led me to Johnson Camera, 6565 Kinne Road, Syracuse NY (johnsoncamera.com)

Johnson's in Dewitt is the only dedicated camera store in Syracuse.
Ra Lins on Burnet ave carries Nikon products, along with a myriad
of appliances TVs, etc. Unfortunately, the pro camera store we had (The Camera Center)
is defunct- going out of business several years ago. They carried a full line of
Canon and Nikon products-sadly gone from the Syracuse map. Good luck.

Sorry, I know nothing about Albany or Syracuse/Utica. However, Rochester is about an hour or so west of Syracuse and there's an excellent camera store here, Rowe Photo,
http://www.rowephoto.com/. I have no idea if they clean sensors. P.S. I just called and they clean sensors for $44.99. He said that sometimes they do it while you wait and sometimes ask you to drop it off for a couple of hours.

Check that, Marty ... Rochester is a whole lot more than an hour or two from Syracuse ... double that, and you'll be closer ....
From here - Rochester is an all day-long drive ... Buffalo ... about three hours more ...
Syracuse is about two hours from Albany ... and Albany's two hours from here (Brewster, NY) ...
BTW ... have a sensor-cleaning tool - bought from Adorama ... was just ten bucks!!!

Thank you all the replies. Will check out some of the suggestions. By the way, Syracuse is one hour from Rochester, not the times quoted.

There is a camera store in Glens Falls, NY that does sensor cleaning according to this page on their website....
https://www.raysupply.com/store-servicesThey have been in business for 75 years. I have not done business with them, so I can not personally recommend them, but I would think if they have been in business that long, they must be doing something right. Store info is Ray Supply, 9 Pine Street, Glens Falls, NY 12801, phone number is 518-792-5848.
I also checked McGreevey Pro Lab in Albany, NY, but they are a photo print lab. Their phone number is 518-426-1039. They may know of a camera store right in the Albany area that cleans sensors if you give them a call.
By the way, Rochester is 87 miles from Syracuse and should only take an hour and 20 minutes at most to get to from Syracuse, unless your in a snowstorm or there is an accident backing up traffic, not as long as ChrisT said. I went to school at RIT and made many trips from Wappingers Falls to Rochester, so I know how long of a drive it is.

So did I ... that's how I know you'd be hard pressed to make it from Syracuse to Rochester in less than two hours ....

Its 87 miles, Syracuse to Rochester... shouldn't take more than an hour and a half under normal driving conditions. I used to make the drive door to door in 5 1/2 hours in good conditions, normal traffic. Google map it if you don't believe me... its 309 miles from where I live and Google Map directions says 5 hours to do the drive.
