Cochise Stronghold was the winter home of Chief Cochise and the Chiricahua Apache. The area was termed a âstrongholdâ as Cochise led his people to the safety of this beautiful mountain fortress during the defense of their homeland from 1852 â 1872. This is the place Cochise loved as his home, where he sought refuge and where he finally made his peace with the white man. He is buried somewhere in the Stronghold.

Really nicely done! Love the lighting on the rocks and the way the Milky Way looks. A Wall hanger for sure.

I completely agree with Soul Dr.
We have a race horse named Dahteste, who was Geronimo's girl friend, a medicine woman and a warrior. She is the one that convinced him to surrender. Sometime this fall I hope to be able to visit her grave on the Mescalero Apache reservation in New Mexico. This is a very special horse, with one blue eye
and some very special markings. I was on the reservation earlier this month. It is more beautiful now that I have ever seen it in the 50 years that I have been going there. It will be good to make the connection between and the strong woman.
