These kinds of creations are mostly thumbs-up/thumbs down, I know, but if you have any particular like/dislike, or feedback relative to the story I've suggested by my title, I'm all ears! Many thanks for your time.

I think this is very creative. To me, the colors seem too bright to be a moon reflection. My first impression was more of a tropical reflection, maybe in a partly shady area. The tree trunks resemble palms and the reflected green resembles palms or ferns. I think I would ditch the bug. Without the bug, it is a very cool abstract however you interpret it.

Thanks for your feedback, Carol! Great point about the colors - and you would know "tropical" reflections better than I

I like the bug. It gives it a focal point. Great colors but without the bug to me it looks like a piece of material you would use to make a sarong. A beautiful sarong though. Maybe you should consider a second career in textile design.

LOL, a sarong here and a quilt of the one I sent via pm. You could be right! Many thanks for your comments, Keni.

It looks like there is foliage in the water. That is an important plus element in this composition. I also really like the highlights on the wings of the dragonfly. I have no idea how you managed this shot; but it is pretty cool. I'm guessing you got really lucky with the fly landing on a stem that was perfectly placed for this composition. The twig itself is a nice curve and helps your composition. The colors are a bit over the top; but I have a suspicion that is exactly what you were looking for. Very captivating and engaging. Another success.

Thank you Erich! The fly was added from another shot The rest is from two additional photos, with everything but the vertical tree trunks added either via brushes I made (lupine leaves, teasel) or via a "pattern" of one of my pics via clone/pattern with a fern brush (not my own).

You are really getting good at those brushes. I admit to not really understanding the technique at all. (I'm going to have to go back and re-read your posts about brushes ). It's a really interesting photo and now hearing how you did it it becomes even more fascinating. Which ties into a previous conversation about what techniques are "fair" in photography. Short answer: Everything that helps you make a better photo.

A thumbs down from me, sadly, Linda. Just can't see anything in it other than perhaps a piece of a lost Monet. But I like the idea and think the reflection and the insect in a sharp image would look nice.

Hi Linda, I see this on canvas with some kind of clear gel applied to give brush stroke texture. I love the concept.

Experiment with the fly on top and fern toward bottom. I like the brownish streak going horizontal. Makes abstract easier on the eyes. Sorry but I find the color harsh. That is just me and some would prefer the boldness of color. You know I feel that we all have different taste and that is wonderfully ok.
