Mike, These are gorgeous photos. Difficult to pick a favorite, but the third and fourth photos are stunning in their beauty.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhh, Oregon in the Fall.....There's a reason they call it the Pacific North WET...!!! You takes your chances out there after around mid September, based on personal experience. When it's right it can be AWE INSPIRING! When it's NOT right....YUK!!! Lewis and Clark and the Corps of Discovery spent the winter of 1805-1806 (December 1805 to late March 1806) at Fort Clatsop not far from present day Astoria, OR. In his journal Clark wrote..."At this place we had wintered and remained from the 7th of Decr. 1805 to this day and have lived as well as we had any right to expect, and we can Say that we never without 3 meals of Some kind a day either pore Elk meat or some kind of roots, not withstanding the repeeted fall of rain which has fallen almost Constantly." By the way, they had an infestation of fleas to deal with as well, in addition to sheer boredom! :)
Thank you very much CathyAnn.
