I am asking your advice about getting a remote trigger for my Nikon 5600.

Save that money and trade in your plastic camera for something real; perhaps a d7100 or d7200...

Was that really necessary?

Why is it so important to you to disparage someone's camera?

IMHO D5600 far superior to either of those. The fully articulated touch screen is awesome.

The randomly placed unlighted buttons, unreadable green screen, and inactive info screen make the d7xxxs before D7500 klunky to operate.

Download the free Snapbridge App onto your phone and you can do everything!

Too bad Snapbridge will not work with my D7000.

There is an earlier App that might: Nikon WMU, if the D7000 has WiFi. I forget if it did.

Doesn’t it have the infrared release?

Look at the Hahnel Captur series, they are the best on the market.

Absolutely agree. The 5600 is a great camera, plastic or not. Only a snob would belittle what may be less expensive than what they themselves use. I happen to enjoy my 5600 as much as my 7500 and 750. They all have good and bad points.

If you want only a radio trigger: I use the SMDV RFN-4s on my Nikons. See: http://www.smdv.co.kr/smdv/?r=en&c=2/16&sort=pidx&uid=61
Simple, small, good range. You need a model compatible with your camera.

Thank you for the advice and suggestions. I now have a few avenues to try. I will try your guidance and advice for the remote. As for a bigger camera, I will upgrade when I have gone from beginner to more than a hobby. Again thank you for always being helpful.

I bought a Aodelan unit for my D500 from Amazon. It has a receiver and a transmitter. The receiver can be used alone by plugging it into the camera. Half press will focus and full press releases the shutter. Make sure any unit you get will work on your camera. The transmitter will work a good distance from the camera and also will focus with a half press.

I tried the Pluto and it didn’t preform as advertised. I saw a photographer with a larger trigger that controlled his Nikon from his cell phone. He left before I got the name of it. I am trying to capture hummingbirds without sitting and waiting and other remote triggered functions. Thank you in advance for all your help and knowledge.
I know this isn't helpful at all and I don't mean to be nasty either - but I really enjoy sitting and waiting.
