Outdoor Photographer Magazine rumors, Anyone?
My subscription is soon due for renewal and don’t want to get stuck with another digital version. In recent months the mag has thinned to the point it should be referred to as a pamphlet. Several months ago I lost part of a subscription to Shutterbug with no notice of the change or offer of digital service. I am fully aware of the trend to soft copy only, but I have never liked reading magazines or books in soft copy. Yes, I know, I am a dinosaur.
A dinosaur with lots of company... (I feel your pain).
You are not alone, BillBob! As regards Outdoor Photographer, they have not announced any plans to go digital, but, then again, neither did Shutterbug or Pop Photo (both were subscriptions cancelled out from under me).

Another dinosaur here! I find reading a magazine on a small tablet next to impossible, and it's not a very pleasant experience on a laptop or PC either.
Since I work on computers pretty much non-stop, I cannot stand to read much of anything off a screen. I want hard copy & as such but an awful lot of first edition books in the genres I enjoy.

I find Outdoor Photographer pretty useless anyway. I won't be renewing my subscription whether print of digital. Come to think of it, I can't remember the last time it came in. Maybe my subscription is expired or the mag has already gone belly up.
Years ago it was pleasant to sit down in a comfy chair and relax with the latest issue of Outdoor Photographer. Now, however, the issues are so skinny that it takes only a few minutes to go through. But then, it's not only Outdoor Photographer. ALL magazines are having a hard time surviving. Thank goodness for UHH where we can get info on the latest photography equipment plus have the advantage of learning from each other's expertise on specific subjects. We don't need OP anymore. BUT I've still kept my large-format photography BOOKS to look at for inspiration.--PixieJackie

Spot on! Most of the articles are worthless anyway. I really don’t care to read about a photographers trip to some park and they go thru preparing for the trip, watch out for that trail, it could be slippery. Content of photography worthiness. Only worthwhile parts are new products and the captions for pictures that list the camera, lens, and settings. Once in a while there is an article worth reading.

I didn't know they were still publishing. They should bite the bullet and go 100% digital. Maybe that would work. The problem they face is people fearing they will soon go out of business. That will keep people from subscribing, so their demise will be hastened.
I once figured the ratio of article to advertisement in photo mags, and it was depressing.
I have had several magazines go digital only and it shocks me that the cost of producing and distributing the magazines goes way down to the company but they don't pass the savings on to the customers. I normally drop them because like many of you, I like the paper copy that I can read when I like and no wifi needed!

UHH for me. enough to look at and read. you can't ask a question to a mag and get so many great answers. from sssooo many points of view.

I hope not.
I really enjoy the magazine's articles on various locations and the experience of the author.
There are places they go that look interesting that I had never thought of and other places I would likely never go to for various reasons.
I also enjoy hard copy reading and have a comprehensive book library that I use daily to relax reading on the deck or an easy chair in the parlour.

It's still coming (at least last month it did) but as
billbobboy42 stated it's getting to be pamphlet thick and not much breadth in content. Renewal next time? Maybe.
Here's a copy of an email got on 8/17/18. Just waiting to see if it's on the level.
