Great job. To bad it isn't flying. Got a ride in Nine-O-Nine last fall. The most exciting experience of my life. A real live B-17. It doesn't get better than that.

Great photos of an historic plane, glad to see that she has undergone a well deserved restoration. During a trip through the Midwest many years ago we stopped in Memphis and saw the Memphis Belle displayed under a covered dome on Mud Island. My mother's brother piloted a B-17, the Miss Smith, was stationed in England and flew many missions over Germany. Unfortunately he went down with his plane, but only after keeping it aloft long enough for his crew to bail out. While there he took a photograph of the Memphis Belle and her crew.

Thanks I will look into getting a copy. I did see that Robert Morgan's son was present at the unveiling of this restoration. Wearing his fathers silver wings. He was an amazing leader.

Thanks for you contribution and adding sharing these interesting photos. Sorry about the loss of your relative. I read that over 200,000 airmen lost their lives during the bombing campaign. That is a lot of fine people who died so that others could be free. God Bless them all.
