I have been following a couple other discussions and tried to put what I am learning to use. The first picture is the original soc. The second is where I tried to use levels to "pop" the color. The last is one I made into B&W using hue and saturation layers. Duplicated the first layer and used it as an overlay at 26%.
Suzanne if you read this post my pse has nothing that says boost color.
I love the pictures...2nd and 3rd are the best. Cute little girl. Good advertisement pic for Cheerios.

Thank you. Maybe I am on the right track.
She is my granddaughter, one of my favorite subjects.
The second one is fantastic. The colors look great, really bold and full without it looking like it was just saturated. And your granddaughter is a doll.
these turned out really nice. Have you had the opportunity to play with dode and burn technique? these eyes would eb perfect for it.

I have played with dodge and burn, but never on eyes. I will have to play with that a bit.

These pics are darling! You did a great job! The suggestion to lighten the eyes a little is good and also I would sharpen around the eyes too to make them pop a little. I love the candidness of this shot. Awesome work!

I sharpened the eyes and lightened around them a bit. What do you think
Thank you everyone for all of your help I have learned a lot today.
You have done a superb job of editing on both the color and B&W versions.

Thank you. I think I am finally catching on to some of this. Now if I can just perfect my focus and understand my camera better. It seems the more I learn, I learn there is 10 times more to learn.

Thank you, I think she has beautiful eyes also, but then I am her grandma.
Your subject is adorable and your photos are good.
I would use an adjustment layer/black and white to convert as there are sliders so that you can adjust each color. This gives you much greater control for your conversion. If you do not want to use layers, go to image/adjustments/b&w.... i use cs5, have not used pse (though it is great) in a long time, so not exactly sure what is available in it.
I keep reading about "pop " the color ?? What is this and how do you do it ? thanks
