Sharing pics from imac to Flickr

I decided to post this in order to see if anyone else out there in Hedgehog land has the same problem since I cant get to the bottom of this anywhere on the web.
I had a late 2013 mac and decided to upgrade to the latest operating system..high sierra.I could still run iphoto on it but also had the option of using the new photos app. In iphoto I could still hit the share button and share with flickr no problem. In photos I couldnt do that..it was saying "account not recognised by flickr". As part of this I discovered it was possible to share directly from lightroom to flickr although when I tried it I got the same message. After I tried the lightroom option I found that I could no longer share to flickr with iphoto. As it happens Ive just bought a new mac with high sierra on it and once again I cant share to flickr from the photos app.I spent 90 minutes on the phone to apple and eventually they gave up on me too.Ive sent 2 emails to the flickr people and received no response.Surely someone out there must be having the same problem or is it just me?
Ps...I realise I can use the flickr uploader as an alternative but this thing is bugging me.Any suggestions would be great.Pps.......I can log in to flickr independantly using my yahoo login without any problem.

It is possible, because I’m able to share from LR to Flickr, but I’ll leave it up to someone else to explain what you have to do because they will be able to it better than me. Hopefully “Dngallagher” will comment on this and explain it for you.

I also cannot share from Photos on my Mac to Flickr. When I try, it says "no account configured". So I hit the "add account" button where it brings up a place to put in your Flickr log-in info. But when I do that, it says "unable to verify account name or password. My log-in info works fine to log in to Flickr directly. After looking for info on the internet, it seems like many are suffering the same problem with no real solution. Apple says it's Flickr's problem, Flickr says it's Apple. So unless one of them changes something, we may be stuck with it. Unless someone here has any ideas. When I upload to Flickr, I usually just drag the photo to the desktop first. And then upload it from Flickr. Hope we can find a solution to this soon.

I think Flickr has tighted up security a bit by discontinuing the use of old external programs or apps. I have a PC instead of Mac but my 3rd party uploader no longer works. I get the "account not configured" error message when using the old Uploader I once used. When I try to configure nothing happens. I like the online uploader better now that I've gotten used to it.

I had a similar problem that started when I updated to High Sierra. I lucked out and got an actual response from Flickr and the fix was super simple.
If you log out of your flickr account and log back in using Yahoo everything goes back to "normal".

The issue is not with Apple or Flickr.....it's with Yahoo and any update can cause the corruption!

Here is a copy of the directions I got from Flickr. I found it a bit confusing but if you have any problems send me a private email and maybe I can help.
***************************************************************************************************

Don't confuse it with your screen or profile names which appear on your profile page next to your buddy icon.
***************************************

Find your login ID on the "Your account" page

1.On a desktop computer, use your web browser to go to the Flickr website.
2.Click your buddy icon. (upper right hand corner)
3.Click Settings to open the "Your account" page.
Your login ID is near the top of the page by "Your Flickr account."
A Yahoo ID is the standard Flickr login ID.
Any valid email address can also be a Flickr login ID.
If you forget your login ID, you can find it using the Sign-in Helper or Beam Me Up tool.
Your screen and profile names are also found on the "Your account" page.
They appear on your profile page next to your buddy icon.
People searching for you in Flickr can do so by matching these names.
Your comments and faves are tagged with either of these depending on whether you've entered one or both.
Caution - Your screen name and profile name, also on this page, can be confused with the login ID because they are next to the buddy icon on your profile page.
Confusing names with login IDs have caused misunderstandings. For example, you have multiple Yahoo accounts: one linked to a Flickr account. It's easy to accidentally create and sign in to a new, empty Flickr account, and think you're in your existing account with all images missing.

I use Lightroom for Flickr and it's the same process as indicated above. It's the Yahoo thing.

I have a new iMac, and an old iMac, and I use Flickr. Once Apple moved to Photos, I found I could no longer easily use iPhoto when one of my applications tried to access my photos, as everything defaulted to Photos.

My workaround is to open iPhotos, select the photos I want to upload to Flickr, and then export them to a dedicated folder on the iMac. I then open my Flickr account and use the "cloud" button to select the photos to upload from the dedicated folder.
