For some unknown reason, Canadian camera shops do not seem to carry adjustable Flash brackets - simple ones that allow the camera to be flipped from horizontal to vertical positions so that the flash light is always above the camera.
I think the Stroboframe Digital Pro-T Flash Bracket is what I'm looking for. It's about $75 from U.S. sources. Anyone tried this one with a Canon 6D MkII and Canon Flash (I have the 600EXII-RT and also a Profoto A1)? Just wondering if it's a good choice - don't want to spend a whole lot of cash.
Thanks.

I use a Newton Brackets FR10
http://www.newtoncamerabrackets.com/FR10%20Info%20page.htmlMinimalist in design, under 10 oz, and folds flat. Hard to go wrong with it. I've had mine for about 8 yrs.
What don't you like about the Stroboframe?

It's not real smooth mechanically speaking and there is some wiggle to the whole apparatus - I mean it does work - but mechanically just not sturdy and smooth - IMO. - But, I guess that is my opinion of ALL that I have used so far.

My opinion as well. Not smooth at all, too big, too heavy.
I have a Custom Brackets CB FOLDING-T Flash Bracket which sells for the same price and it is very well made. It folds neatly to fit in your camera case or you can carry it in your pocket if you want to take it off for some reason. It feels secure on the camera and when you have several thousands of dollars in your hands you don't want a cheaply made bracket to hold it all.

Do you have a picture or link ??

Look for Quick Flip Flash Brackets in eBay. I have had the Stroboframe original and these replicas are just as good and very low priced. I bought my latest a month ago from an Ontario, California seller at $10.79 USD free shipping and handling. Used the replicas for years with never a problem.

What do you mean by replicas?

They look and perform just like the original Stroboframe original. Only real difference is the foam on the handle will probably degrade after about 15 years. Only reason I have ever replaced one is when I lost the other through inattention.

A couple other hogs said they found the Stroboframe to be not very sturdy and not very smooth. What is your experience?

I have used these Quick Flips for decades and never had a problem even when running on a LaCrosse field covering a team in practice wearing a referee uniform getting swatted by some of the players by accident. Strapped my hand to the bracket's handle and never had equipment damage.
