I captured this shot of friends playing a late afternoon game of volleyball on the beach some years ago (Long Beach, CA). I cropped some off the top and bottom, increased contrast to make the figures true silhouettes, and increased the saturation of the yellow sky...but it was really that color. I was lying in the sand, facing the ocean and the Long Beach/Los Angeles Harbor. I love the layered look. Camera: Nikon D70 with kit 18-300 mm Nikkor DX zoom lens. Please view the Download. Comments and suggestions much appreciated.
Nice shot, I like it. Excellent timing on the action.
Really nice. The cranes (or whatever the are) in the background add that little something extra that sets it apart.
Superb shot. Needs nothing except a frame and a wall.
great job, very interesting
The sunsets over the ocean because of the smog in So Cal are beautiful.

Zazzy1: That's sometimes true, though we have far fewer smog alerts now than we had 15-20 years ago...smog controls have worked surprisingly well. The bit polluters are now commercial trucks and the harbors...plus the brush fires of course. Thanks for looking and for the comments.

Thanks so much for taking the time to look and to comment. Wish I could take more shots this good. I've visited Boston twice and enjoyed my visits very much. I'll be back sometime.

Thanks so much...for looking and for the kind comments. I took several single shots, trying to catch good action. No continuous spray and pray (which is what I'd probably do now, to be honest). This was the best. Have a wonderful day.
