Planning to delete this section

When I started this section I thought it would attract of fair amount of our members, and be useful. I guess I was wrong, since hardly anyone seems to use it. So, next week I will take it down. A good section to migrate to would be "For Your Consideration," where you can notify those who might comment that they are free to show you what they mean by re-editing your photo.

You had a good idea and applied it. It is not your fault , or problem, that many did not want to participate. Summertime and lack-of-time are two likely culprits.

But I do want to say that I, for one, appreciate and thank your investment for this.

Hope you will give it a while longer.

For me it has provided some interesting challenges. I usually hit this section at least twice a day looking for something new. It was kind of like an instructor giving a class a challenge. At least that was what I got out of it.

Ron, could you help by posting something you would like feedback/another view on?

Evening Bob;

Well, in sixty plus years, I've never put anything of my own on display or posted on line. So this ought to be interesting. Are you looking for something that needs a correction or a photo that may have a better photo within? I've lost the artistic side, so the latter may be the better choice. Don't have a scanner, so that leaves out 95% of what I have, as I'm new to digital.

Hello Ron. Welcome to the dark side. It is the inherent evil side of digital photography.

There are the scanner cum printers that are relatively inexpensive. Although once you "lay" your hands on a digital camera, some of your creative juices will become less dormant.

Hello Stephen;

I have printers, no problem there. Just don't have a scanner any longer. Well, I do have a flatbed, but I had to dump a bunch of computer when I down sized, and the computer I have now does not like XP, so no scanner.

Hello Bob;

So as I understand it, I post a jpeg? If so, that pretty much restricts anyone from doing some serious editing or challenging themselves. Post a Raw or Tiff download afterwards if they want to work it?

Post a jpg of the shot. Export a raw as a jpeg if you want, and then upload it.

Don't know what I'm doing wrong, but I'm unable to post a jpeg from even my D50. Tried reducing the size, but no joy. Ten mb should be acceptable?

You should be okay. Are you clicking on "Store Image" and "Add Attachment" after uploading?

It is on my end, Media Com put in a new tower for us in this area and are having a problem with the upload speed. It has dropped to 2 mb max and is only good for e-mail. But, they are working on it. Waited for a year and a half to get the down load up from 16 mb up to 100 that they were charging us for, but dropped the upload frome 26 to if lucky 2mb. So when I try to upload, I get a time out and file to large for system.

You could lower the image pixels to 2100 on the largest side, then save it as a jpeg to upload. Should be fairly small.
