Seeking Recreational Vehicle Purchase
I'm retired. Am seeking to buy a recently used RV for long term living photographing and travelling especially with my grandchildren during their school vacation times. I also plan to use it to assist other military veterans do minor home maintenance as I have tools and skills. So if anyone knows of a reasonably priced 20 to 36 footer class A RV for sale, please let me know.

Hi, are you sure you want a motor home? Seems like it would be hard to work out of. You have to pack up every time you go some where. Might want to think about a truck and a medium size trailer. I only say this because my folks had one for awhile. Always saying they didn't like it for that reason. They ended up with a trailer. and they just used it for camping.

Sounds like you a crew cab 3/4 ton with tool box bed/service vehicle and a 24 ft w/slider would be better. See lots of rigs passing by here to & from the mountains. See too many motor homes with lots of maintenance problems & darn few Dodge pickups/trucks
Think real hard about that, think about gas, think about maintainance, wanted a motor home till I added it all up, thought about a truck camper too, friend with a lot more camping experience pointed out a truck that's good with the camper in rides way too hard with it out, how about a work truck and travel trailer? then it's only how much trailer do I want to pull and park, Bob
I've got one for sale. 2005 Fleetwood Fiesta 32S, 28K miles. Bought it for the same reason you want one, and then the Grands moved away. E-mail me and I'll provide pix and we can talk.

Travel + Photography
Nice to have an RV w. bathroom, cooking area and reefer. Just get something that lets you easily get on a supportable roof platform for the photography opportunities that will come with the travel. Nice, if you could find one that run$ on water.
I had the great fortune of being able to "Full Time" several years ago and incorporated it into my work. I had a 38 foot diesel pusher and towed a Saturn wagon (which at that time was one of the few cars you could pull flat without disconnecting driveshaft or some other such thing. Now, most every vehicle will pull flat) We absolutely loved the experience of 3 years doing that. My work enabled me to totally utilize the convenience and mobility of the unit. Washer/dryer, front and rear air, satelite TV, 3 slide-outs, auto leveling, etc. etc. Greatest time I have ever spent and got paid to do it. Take advantage of this opportunity if you can do it - you will not regret it at all.
Hi, GP! I understand things have changed a little with regard to the "toad". Recent models with CV transmissions need to be carried and not towed.

Wow GP, that is a big rig!! Almost a house on wheels. :) Can you remember the gas mileage you were getting with some thing like that? I would love to go across the country in that. I might ask the boss tomorrow, see if he will get me one. :)

Gas mileage is between 6 and 9 miles per gallon like driving a U-Haul truck. Some RV's get 12 mpg but that is rare. You're saving on motel and restaurant expenses.
I averaged about 7-8 MPG (Cummins Diesel). I can remember buying diesel for about 78 cents at the reservation in Oklahoma back then. I loved every moment of it. I sold and oversaw installation of auto dealership body shop and service equipment (paint booths, prep stations, lifts, alignment systems, air compressor systems, etc) - Ford, GM and Chrysler. I hired local contractors and this was a great way to be on-site for most of the construction phase. Dealers liked to have someone on-site at night, and all I needed was an electrical outlet. My companies, DeVilbiss, Rotary, etc. liked the hands-on supervision and it actuallyl worked out to be a better deal $$$$-wise also.
