Church choirs are very special and in some cases they have transferred some into blues. Organs became popular in blues and they had roots back to choirs where people ''moved on'' to blues bringing the organ there

Here is history....a Saturday night house party. These date back to maybe 100 years. There were also house rent parties where a small band would show up and people were charged maybe a quarter or something as the renter needed money to pay the rent that month....not the case here for sure
