Ok I've been holding back !

I've been working on getting my data from Winter , Spring and now Summer . I'm having a heck of a time trying to get everything into it's own folder and attempt to process all the data since it's boiling. M82 lum doesn't want to line up with my RGB stack and I've got the same problem with my m81 data , that's telling me that my marks on my focuser are off and my camera has not been put back in the exact position as the previous nights after collimating. OOPS ! This is my rendition of " The All Seeing Eye" M57 several nights of Track n Stack data if I can only get my colors to go where I want them to. This processing is a real "PITA" All of it. I wanted to get the colors right but , I've run into that wall 2 times so far and I'm walking away again for another month.

I really like this.
Nicely done and processed.
Glad to see you haven't melted away..

I have fought and fought and fought colors using DSS. But just this week, I have finally started getting the hang of Demosaicing using Nebulosity. And this seems to be working better.

Attaching one that I must have actually set the white balance last year since it looks like images of the Ring Nebula I find online. A bit of red around the outside. Blue in the center. And the ring itself in yellow. Stacked this one tonight in Nebulosity. Used an Olympus EM5ii converted to full spectrum IR along with an Explore Scientific ES102ed. With the camera 2x crop factor, this image is effectively a 1420mm capture showing just how tiny the Ring Nebula actually is.

The 2nd image is last years attempt using DSS. With a lot of stretching, was able to make it look like this.

Jim and Jim, N. Carolina has been boiling for the last 5 months. This Summer is proving to be a hot one "Oppressive" everyday except for 5 days in June where it dropped into the 80's thanks to a cold front. I try this and that but, the colors just frustrate the tar out of me. I tried using dss for several weeks , I just couldn't get some of the data too stack and got PO after a month of working with it and watching videos on processing with dss. I just haven't found my groove , AIP4win does a good job except for my pitiful frames that are off center, it's a learning process. I've made progress and I like the fact that it'll save in 32 bit , I've had plenty of headaches with the 3 targets I've collected . Astronomy tools is a set of tools I use quite often on DSO post processing and then drop it in Image Ready before saving to the web. My headache is getting my background to a darker contrast with bright stars they're still blue, I use white balance and it lightens the background and also my target. URRRRGGGG ! I'll find my groove one of these months. Thanks fellas I'm trying ! Jim I love those stars and the ring , it's small but , at least your stars aren't blue green or red all of them.

Unless you're a professional astronomy, and even then, the color of stellar objects is irrelevant! Astro-imaging is an art form, use whatever palette you like and tweak to your heart's content.

P.S.: I like your all seeing eye image!

I really love the way you processed m42 , looks too cool bwa. I understand , it's my unique take on it isn't it? I really would love to get the stars in the widefield image away from the all blue stars , that's why I increased it and I used white balance to correct it and ended up taking all the color out of the Ring.

Maybe I'm confused...
But,
M57 is the Ring Nebula. https://nasa.gov/feature/goddard/2017/messier-57-the-ring-nebula

The Helix Nebula has been referred to as the God's Eye. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Helix_Nebula

One thing I have noticed with Stellarium is that there are a number of odd names cropping up for old standards.
Example: C-27 - NGC 6888, AKA: Crescent Nebula (Ear Nebula)
Ear Nebula? Where did that come from?
Or NGC 6910, The Inchworm Cluster (The Rocking Horse Cluster) Well, which is it?

So I recon the Ring Nebula could be call an eye nebula.

I just think it is great you got it.

Hope you get some relief from the heat and humididity.
I've been up to my arse in alligators lately, so no imaging of late.
I'm jumping around like a flea in a skillet.

The name {all seeing eye} is from the "Lord of the Rings" . I didn't intend to confuse yall . That's what came to mind when I was processing it while watching the marathon of "Lord of the Rings". That's just par for the course Sonny " anything that will go wrong will happen in this hobby. There's not going to be any relief in this temp or humidity until after the 2nd week of September.

Oh, OK, Great movie that Lord of the Rings.

When I lived in Wyoming (7 years), the temperature began to drop in September. Generally, the first frost was around the second week of Sept.
For the next 9 months it was cold. Sometimes damn cold.
Wyoming is where they send Brass Monkeys to neuter them...

(Hence the term: Cold enough to freeze the balls off of a brass monkey...)

Stay cool and dehumidified... (If you can...)
