Could you both reveal the name of the float trip company you used that you were happy with? There are many.

We did one on Lewis&Clark. Not sure there is much difference between the companies. It was fun but difficult to photograph much from (we did see several bald eagles as well as a kestrel). They have people who photograph you going through the rapids which you can purchase the photo from, if that interests you. But I would recommend using either a waterproof camera or bringing a dry bag. Maybe it depends on how the water is flowing (or your group and \ how they go through the rapids).

I don't have that information immediately available (none of my photos include that data), but I have sent a message to the tour company (Insight Vacations) asking if they can provide it. Since it was 9 years ago, I don't have a lot of hope, but maybe....

A few years ago we hired a guide for 4 hrs/ day on about 3 separate days in middle of June who knows photography like he knows
that territory. His name is Jared Griskowski. (sp?). This was at Rocky Mountain Nat Park but he knows other locations where guides are needed.
He is a great guide and I recommend him
and hope you can find him. You might begin your search for him at/near Estes Park CO.

Jenny Lake Lodge! For what they charge for a few days, I could get a new Canon 5D Mark iv. You must enjoy it a LOT!

Never been there before but have heard great things about it. Actually I think it would take 4-5 days to purchase the Canon. Also includes breakfast, dinner and horseback riding for two. I really don’t think the price is that bad. As my old South Carolina friend is fond of saying, “A shroud don’t have no pockets!”

I was just there and spent most of my time in Lamar Valley, partially because of the huge amounts of tourists. The only thing that I will add is that quite by luck I ran across two separate professional guides and two people from the wolf project. They all communicate with each other via radio to help each other have the best possibilities to spot wildlife. I was able to see two wolves on separate days just by listening and learning from these incredible people. It really depends on what your driving forces are for what types of photos. Good luck with Jackson. What used to be a cool funky town has become a town filled by pretentious, obnoxious people.

Can’t recall the names , all are competent. The river shouldn’t be too rough this time of year so I think you should feel safe and enjoy. Our grandson took a trip through the rapids and ‘LOVED’ it.

Thanks Genocolo! It was quite a thrill to see the sun coming up with the hoar frost covered trees and the animals in the snow and watch old faithful with a handful of people (in comparison to the throngs during the other times of the year)!
