From what I've seen by other's, the possibilities are endless, especially if you get out of town and into the wild or badlands. Google, "New Mexico Photography". A personal current favorite of Landscapes and Storms that has many shots from that area is Mitch Dobrowner. http://mitchdobrowner.com/ Do be careful of flash flooding. Yes, IR might be interesting. I have such a camera too.

There are beautiful, historic Missions on the Mission Trail, the wonderful Riverwalk area, downtown, and the newer part(of riverwalk,) for cycling, jogging and walking. There is an amazing, historic sunken garden right next door to the zoo. They have a space needle left over from the Worlds Fair. Fredericksburg is a historic town nearby, very walkable, with lots of shops. And the food! Wonderful food everywhere!

Bandelier Nat’l Monument is NW of SF. There are some great shooting opportunities of the Anasazi ruins and cliff dwellings.

Ooooppps! Nevermind!! I cannot delete my post and I obviously read that so wrong!! (My brain said San Antonio.) Ooops! But do be sure to go to the Sante Fe Railyard Farmers Market. Really nice this time of year.
And just down the road is a wonderful little historic mission called Chimayo, famous for "miracle sand." People make a pilgrimage there on holy days, such as Easter. In Sante Fe, you will want to see the inside of the Cathedral Basilica, and other historic shrines.

I’ve been to Santa Fe, and there’s literally no end to the photo ops there. Just take your camera, a big SD card, and go crazy with it. There’s something to photograph at every turn. I’ll go back if I ever have the chance.

I would go to O'Keeffe property in Santa Fe.
https://www.okeeffemuseum.org/visit/
The property area itself has lots of opportunities if you don't want to go into her museum. That section is called Ghost Ranch: Ghost Ranch is a 20,000-acre educational retreat

Get in touch with Santa Fe, Chamber of Commerce and AAA. Hotel Concierge should provide information.

Check out Tent Rocks just southwest of Santa Fe. I can’t remember the official name of the park.

You can just walk around the downtown. Bring an IR camera it’s the perfect place. Tent rocks is wonderful but be mindful of the heat. There are fabulous museums there. Museum hill a folk art museum, Indian museum etc. If the opera is in season, it’s wonderful in a fabulous setting.
BTW terrific food there.

I agree with the O’Keeffe suggestion. Go to Abiquiu and Ghost Ranch area for sure. I just participated in an O’Keeffe Immersion workshop and learned a lot about her husband, Alfred Steglitz and his photography. Everywhere you turn are more shooting opportunities. Enjoy!

Go north to Abiquiu area and see Ghost Ranch and its yellow, red, pink, white cliffs. There's a rustic guest ranch so you can even stay in there if you want early/late shots. Bandelier and Puye Cliffs great ancient cliff dwellings. Taos Pueblo. And any where around the Santa Fe Plaza is worth a stroll to get the beautiful adobe architecture!
