I heard that "dem bums" (Brookline Dodgers) moved to a foreign country some years ago, somewhere west of here. Since they no longer are a NY "home team", I gave up on them.
I no longer bleed Dodger blue; the hometown Bosox have replaced them as my number one. There will never be any team like the Boys of Summer, taking names and breaking barriers. I have my favorite players' baseball cards and autographed baseballs atop my office bookcase, even today. Many more on the shelves below.
They're long gone, but on a late summer night, perhaps on my next birthday, if I put my old transistor radio under my pillow, I can still faintly hear Vin Scully doing play by play as Danny McDevitt beat (I think?) the Pirates on my fifth birthday. Vin choked up a bit, even though he was moving to LA with the team. I cried out loud....

Had lobster and clams near Acadia last year at an outside roadside restaurant!
You're the dead spit of Harry Enfield, especially the one in the flat cap (or "duncher" as it's known locally).

Bob Style or Lillian Style? It was actually at Bob's Clam Shack in Kittery, as I recall. Maybe I do need that GPS feature after all.
My wife's been away most of the summer, but I haven't been to a single clam shack yet. From Bah Hahbah to the Cape, we have so many favorites!

Not sure I see it, but I'll take it - he's ten years younger than I! One of my UK friends insists I am the twin of Bill Bryson, the American writer, but he's never actually seen me "in the flesh". I'm much better looking!

I received this message today, from a user who just put me on their ignore list. I have never interacted with this person before in any way:
Point taken. I grabbed a quick, one-handed snapshot in a mirror for the purpose of creating an avatar, parodying the famous self portrait by a photographer I can't recall. It's not exactly a demonstration of photographic skills, but at least it covered most of my face. Here are two better shots, although they do reveal more of my old and ugly mug. Should I switch?

Don't change it. Consider it a blessing that you are now one of the fortunate ones included on this creature's ignore list. Where do you sign up?
I'd have to say that falls into the "Really?" category. Too much time on their hands. Maybe I'll get tired of mine & change it to a photo I took, obviously I won't show a one-handed camera hold as I surely wouldn't want to offend a purist. LOL

Somehow I managed to piss two people off before breakfast today - without posting a thing.
One tells me not to post a link in response to a question, then blocks me, and another is offended by my snapshot avatar taken in a dirty mirror. I’d hate to see what might happen if I posted an opinion!

WOW, someone has a stick where it don' belong, they must think a camera is a holy relic, not a tool. My avatar is a out of focus picture of my granddaughter.
Leave it......pay no attention to the opposition.
Just ignore that member... i like your avatar.
Nothing wrong with your Avatar mate, keep it.This person has probably slid out of a wormhole in Trollsville and slid back and gone into hiding.
