The Petrified Forest is a definite on my list.
That is an awesome picture. Great sky! How did you get it to look like that?

I personally use Paintshop Pro, with NIK filters. There are 3 fllters I use alot within the NIK collection the first is Color Efex then Viveza and sometimes the HDR one (this one really dialed back). The sky was basically as shown in the picture. The filters enhance and accentuate what is there.

Thanks for the info. That was one of the best skies I have ever seen!

Definitely much better than the real thing.
Don't forget Cadillac Ranch rt 66 Amarillo, TX. Bring a can of spray paint to add your touch of art.
Cadillac Ranch is on the list, thanks. I think I have all the big tourist stops. What I'm looking for are stops along the way that only the locals might know about that are real gems! Whenever we travel I always ask the locals what to see. They usually come up with things that are really good and not necessarily tourist traps. Thanks again to everyone who has helped out. Much appreciated!
If you want really unique places, we have one for you. In Tucumcari, New Mexico there is a restaurant called the Pow Wow and Lizard Lounge... we heard about it from a local and it was xceed all expectations... if you go there please let us know what you think. It’s not your ordinary restaurant by any means.
Did you go? Do we get an AAR?

If you are asking me if I went to the Lizard Lounge, I did!! It was quite unique and very local while being on the Route (66). They use Hatch Chilies, so be for warned... as far as discounts, not needed. Very fair prices :)
Actually, I was asking the OP, but thanks for your update.
Hi MissSue,
Thanks for the tip. I Just put it on my list.

I’m working on my book from my trip at present... enjoy your trip, it’s better than you have imagined!!
I'm sure it's going to be a great trip! I only wish we had more time to do it!
Also in peach springs take the drive to the bottom of the Grand Canyon... Your vehicle needs to have some ground clearance...
At the end, you get the Santa Monica Pier, the end of the 66 and a huge tourist, picture taking area.
