I’ve had no use for chipped adapters, but my several Fotodiox products are all of very high quality, on a par with any from Kilfitt, Leica, Nikon or Novoflex.

Search Tony Northrop's YouTube channel for smart adapters. He had mediocre performance with Nikon glass on Sony bodies.

Nikon lenses still have partially mechanical focusing systems, whereas Canon and Sony have fully electronic focusing systems, so there is a compatibility problem getting Nikon lenses to work well, even with adapters, on Sony E-Mount. Adapted Canon lenses work much better on Sony E-Mount. Apples and Oranges.

I use a Vello, aka Commlite on a Sony A7RII. Works great for me. AF is not quite as fast as with the Nikon, but then I'm not sure of AF speed with native Sony lenses.

Actually no. I use both Canon and Nikon lenses with Sony. Both are fine.

kymarto that is great, but most testers and top reviewers still have problems with some Nikon lenses working well on Sony E-Mount cameras. That is why less Nikon than Canon users keep their old lenses if they have switched to Sony. There is truly a difference in how some models of Nikon lenses work with fully electronic focusing and electronic aperture systems. I will find a video that explains it to you. Keep doing what works for you. Cheers
