My wife and I are taking our yearly vacation to Acadia National Park at the end of June. We were then thinking of going north to see the Bay of Fundy. We've never been there but are looking for good spots to see the tides and see the other photo opportunities in the area. Any tips ?

There's a small park in Truro, Nova Scotia where the tidal bore comes right by you. One minute part of the river is practically dry and 5 minutes later you can see the tidal bore come around the bend and then it's a raging river! Probably anyone in town could tell you exactly where this park/area is. We were there in 2012 and I don't exactly remember. Hopewell Rocks is also excellent.

I was there many years ago. We were at a low tide period but it was really something to see. If you get there when the tides are running higher I bet it would be spectacular. Take pictures but you got to be quick.

My wife and I were there a number of years ago. Very well worthwhile! We took a raft trip on the Subernacki River which was amazing and actually quite safe. They take high powered inflatables to the tidal bore at a shallow sandy area. The bore which was about 10 inches high moved the sand around to create 6 foot waves and the rafter circles through them for about 20 minutes or so. You do get sandy and there are showers and warm drinks when you get back.
The Flower Pot rocks are also a great photo opportunity.
Have a wonderful time and if you have a waterproof camera, share some images.

If you're driving through New Brunswick, Saint John is a lovely old town with some interesting & photogenic sites, including Reversing Falls. Near Moncton there is Magnetic Hill which is kind of a kick and needn't take too long. I believe there was some wine country near where one passes into Nova Scotia. We stayed in Truro to see the tidal bore, at a motel right on the edge (but that was in 1981). It came through at 2:00 am, and a few people actually came out and watched it... In Truro, there is also Victoria Park which is a real nice spot to hike and take pictures.

When I was there a very nice ranger offered to show us around. Nobody else wanted to walk, so she and I went for an hour long walk. She knew exactly when to head back to avoid getting our feet wet. We took pictures standing under the arch without getting our feet wet. It wasn't long before the opening disappeared. It was 30-40 feet high. Because of bridges and other structures they say the tidal bore isn't as impressive as it once was. I think you will enjoy it.

Don't miss Hopewell Rocks at Low Tide. This allows you to walk through out the "rocks". Moncton and Truro are the places to see the tidal bore. Halls Harbour, NS is where at low tide the local fishing boats rest about 30' from the high tide level. These boats rest on the bottom of the harbour. Lunenburg is a beautiful old coastal town that you don't want to miss. Even though the tourist overwhelm it try and see Peggy's Cove. It is a photographers desert.

While up there try a save a little time for Prince Edward Island. Going to the island cost nothing but they will get you coming out. Going over by ferry then returning by the 7 mile bridge will give you a free ride over and the lowest fair to return. If you go the other way the ferry is rather expensive.

My wife and I had a wonderful trip there last August.
