This is for all of you who live in the city and will likely never experience this unless you travel and stay out late at night. It is 8 images stitched in a panorama format. I did minor processing to remove the airplane streaks. I live in an original Dark Sky town where Pluto was discovered. Mother Nature is magnificent. Thanks for looking. It was captured between 2 and 4am last night.

Great work! Download is the only way to see this. There is a panorama section that would enjoy seeing this.

WOW!! Your western skies are so much more clear than those I have here in Florida. I love how you handled this shot. Really well done. May I ask your settings and the focal length of the lens you used. I assume you shot in the vertical position correct?
Thanks.

What town/city is the source of the light pollution on the right? Your composure of the pollution at the end of the Milky Way arch was perfect!

In my mind, your composition would look great as a whole wall 'image'!

Thanks for sharing!

True, here in the Mid-Atlantic, we are lucky to see Venus. Beautiful image. I appreciate all that you did to put it together and show us.

I've always wanted to try this but I'm going to have to travel out a bit to get away from the City lights. I've done some long exposure night photo's before but not of the Milky Way. Can I ask what your camera's exposure setting were for this?

OMG! That image is gorgeous. Yes, please let us in on the details. I'm hoping to do a milky way image when traveling to a dark sky area in about 3 weeks.
