I bought the D750 with the 24-120 lens for my action pics. The lens is I think softer than others I have but it is a good holiday/walk around lens. I have bought a new D750 as the old one was over 260,000 activations as a just in case option. I thought of the D850 but memory cards are all different to the D750 and D7100 which I also have, so I wanted consistency across my range of camera bodies. The battery is also a bit different but not sure if it can be used in the bodies I have.

I am thinking about upgrading to a full frame camera and like the price point that the Nikon D750 is at. I have thought about the new Sony, A7III however with the current pricing on the Nikon is tough to pass up. I will most likely buy with the 24-120 offered and at some point use the cash saved to buy another lense most likely a long range zoom.

I have done a fair amount of research and would like to know if some of you have had real time experience with this camera and what you think? I know they have had a few issues with the 24-120 lense and some initial firmware problems.

Any thoughts would be appreciated?

The 24-120 f4 is a nice walk around lens the attached picture was taken hand held in manual at 200 yards ISO 400 120mm f4 1/6400 sec

The current offering of the D750 with battery grip and 24-120 SHOULD NOT be passed up, what a deal, Nikon offered a similar deal during the Holidays.
I owned the D750, it was the best Nikon I ever owned "right out of the box". Never had a problem with it. I still own the 24-120 f4. I used it extensively taking candid's at my son's wedding years ago. I was pleased when enlarging those shots, quite nice image quality and color. The current deal being offered on this trio of Nikon goodies will give you years of wonderful memories, DON'T PASS IT UP. But, if you do, Nikon will likely offer it again this Holiday season. Good luck and keep on shooting until the end.

My 'holiday' lens is the Nikon 28-300. This covers all my needs regardless of subject and with the D750 being able to push the ISO to thousands I don't NEED a tripod. I'm very happy to traipse around towns, villages, museums, art galleries, cathedrals or country paths and mountains with only this relatively inexpensive lens.

Great camera and lens combination. Extremely happy so far with mine. Nikon just announced some additional kit combinations and instant rebates so shop around.

Thanks for all the responses.
I think I might have gotten a bit confused on the firmware issue. It might have been something I read in a Olympus review.

I’ve had one since introduction. I like it very much...terrific in low light, excellent image quality and it’s light compared to those D8XX bodies. For the price they are a steal

I have the Nikon D750 and like it very much. Keep in mind it does have the anti-aliasing filter and so does the Sony A7III (I think). Like an idiot I paid the full price of $2,300 back in March of 2015 for the D750 (body only). Now you can get a new one for a fraction of that price. Looking back I would now opt for the D810 over the D750. The D810 does not have the AA filter. Instead of the Nikon kit 24-120 kit lens I chose the Tamron 24-70 G2 instead. That stays on the D750 most of the time.

I can vouch for the tamron, though I think you should go ahead and get the 24-120 at a great price. There is a lot to be said for its range. I think its a huge advantage to focus on photography and not changing lenses all the time, which you will need to do if you go 24-70. You can find a lot of good used 810's now that so many folks abandoned it for the 850. For that matter, if you decide not to go with the 24-120 and its great discount, you might even consider getting a used 750 with the lens you choose.

Than-you.

Now I just have to pull the trigger...

Or shutter.

I am wary of the 24-120 Nikon. Even the latest version.

Buy it, love mine, then buy David Busch's book Nikon D750 to learn what, how and why to get up to speed quickly. I am a amateur user, not associated with Mr. Busch.

My first FF camera was a D750 and I have not had an issue with it and it really is everything I have ever wanted in a digital SLR. No software issues but I think there may be a firmware update if you want to use Nikon's AF-P lenses.

Have fun

I have the d750 along with the 24-120 and it is a winner. Mine was never part of the recall and to this day, works great and takes wonderful images. You will not be disappointed. Great price right now.

No need to wary! I have seen far too many outstanding images that have been taken with that lens (current issue) up to and including mounted on a D850. Outstanding in the area of image quality. It is an excellent lens

I have two D750's. Great camera. handles low light extremely well. Got the first one when they first came out. Go the second one in 2017.
