I found some old iron yesterday, a 30s era McCormick Deering Farmall F12 (unless someone here knows better than I do).

Good find. I think this is from the era when a tractor could be completely disassembled, repaired and reassembled with a (flat) screwdriver and a crescent wrench. And a life expectancy measured in decades.

Looks like the F20 one of the most popular tractors of that area of the 1930's along with the A John Deere. Sat on a many day on them.

Capturing old machinery is always a good subject. Nicely done.

That’s very good. Many will like the b&w, but I prefer the other for color and composition.

An F20 I think. Still some of them running and I had spent some hours with them. And yes, profragtop, that's about all the tools you needed. And some plaster tto help end your broken arm when it backfired as you tried to crank it!

I think not. From the pictures I've seen posted of F20s, the steering rod is level with the frame & gas tank. The F12 pictures show a slight angle down from the steering wheel to the front. I can only go by what I've seen doing a search. I am no IH/Farmall expert, although I do own a 1959 Case 811B.

After doing some more research, it could be an F14. I may have to go back and look for the Serial No. ID tag.

Great image. I love tractors and I always wanted one (that runs of course). Just something about them when you are sitting on them makes you feel like nothing else could.

I'm sure that there are fellows that grew up on a farm who's job it was to maintain the fields and animals that have had their fill of sitting on a tractor as they baked in the sun so I respect their views.
