I agree Linary. Hog is a blog/forum for photo buffs. Some place to meet, greet and interact with others. Google searches don't always have easy to understand answers. A little one on one can help. And some Hogs like to help.

Almost every question asked on the Hog could be easily answered by using Google.

If everybody with a question did an internet search then we would not need the Main Photography Discussion section nor many of the User Managed sections. There are several members who constantly or occasionally answer simple or even complex questions by suggesting a Google search instead of asking on this site - why?

Apart from making money for the site owners, what is the purpose of UHH? In my mind I believe it to be a place for sharing information, a learning and problem solving centre, and a place to display both good and bad images to receive accolades or criticism.

It should not be a place where a member is told to go seek your answers elsewhere.

It seems so easy to just pass by a question without answering it and being a jerk on top of it.

That kind of answer is precisely why I never ask questions in this group. I come to see current topics and to hopefully learn something new but don't need to be insulted by keyboard warriors which seems to happen fairly frequently here

I don’t understand why some people have to be so nasty in here.
Are they that miserable and unhappy that they have to direct all their barbs at enthusiastic newcomers or β€œregulars” seeking advice or opinions?
How sad.
Linary is spot on.

Don't be intimated by them. I just add them to "Ignore List" and they won't be able to reply any questions you ask. Anytime I see a snarky, condescending, or rude reply on any posting they get added. My list is up to 25 or so.

Social media is a great place for passive aggression. No fear of being slapped upside the head. How brave we are from a distance.

Can one set up Back Button Focus on Fuji XT-2? If so, how does one do so?

Did your camera come with a manual? If so, I'm sure you can find it in there and if you don't have one, I'm sure you can download the pdf version here on the web. The pdf versions are nice because you can do "find" and get the information fast that way.

Another good way to find it is to use Youtube. Just search "Fuji XT and back button" and if it's there, someone will have a quick video on how to do it.

Never be intimidated to ask questions and just ignore those that have nothing to offer. Most of us understand what it is like to be a beginner or simply want an opinion and will not be nasty or condescending. Those that do not respond nicely usually do not last long on this forum, they either leave or are blocked by the administrator. I have found there are more people on this site willing to offer their expertise or experience than the people who are negative. Everyone can use a search engine to find information, but that information does not include the personal experience that people on this site offer.

I did set my XT2 to BBF on the AF button on back of camera. But the button is so small I could hardly feel it.
I loved it on my Nikon it was all I used & totally have muscle memory from it being there. I suppose I could use a front button but it’s just not the same. Will have to experiment with it some more.

ALColter is right, why do people have to be so rude, that's why you have this site to answer questions no matter what question it is. Good question AL I wish I could answer that question for you I would have been happy to,but I own a Nikon. I hope somebody out there shows some class and answres your question in an intellegent way.Good luck my friend, I Am on your side. Jim Bianco

I've seen similar situations when someone get off their medication and turns into a nasty individual. It is hard to be nice to others when one is angry and miserable with one self.

Nicely stated.
