The greatest enemy of knowledge is not ignorance; it is the illusion of knowledge. [Stephen Hawking]

No, I do not hold with that. The greatest enemy of knowledge is to have it and not use it!

Knowlege isn't a constant, it changes depending upon who you read and when.

Have to agree with Hawking. But everyone will have their own perspective and of course
believe they are right. I was right a year ago, but my wife kindly told me I was wrong. LOL

There seems to come a time in the lives of great people when their basis of fame leads to becoming more celebrity than scholar. Some are just celebrity and little else. I do not include Hawking in that last statement.

He was right. We have too many leaders who THINK they know. We have too few who know they don't know and so seek knowledge. If you think you know, you stop searching for truth and assume you have the answer forever. But knowledge is not stagnant. If it were, we would never have advanced as a species.

I am bothered by the politicians who "know for certain" something that in fact is wrong. They will act on such ideas at the risk of the public. Cruz for instance has a bunch of such ideas.
