Miz, I'd go with your gut feeling not your head based on what someone said.

The human eye doesn't see things the same way a camera does--so--if you want your image to look like what you saw you have to process it--on the other hand, if you don't want your image to look like what you saw you have to process it--so--you have to process it. By the way, most "cheap" photo places don't want their machines to break down, so they buy pretty good equipment to start with--in general it will print exactly what you send it--you might first send Kodak's "standard" image just to see where their color balance lies--but in general you will get what you send--so, you have to process it.

Everything printed goes through some software in some computer at some time. Yes, that's true and the more you are in control of that process the better. Is that what you mean?

I normally don't go for extreme enhancement but I pick #2 because in this case the enhancements really do "enhance" the story without the extra embellishments of #3. He is apparently deeply into a guitar solo and your enhancements look like he's got the spots pointed right at him which IMHO enhances the shot in a more natural way. So 2,1,3 for me. Very nice images.

Has something to do with the order in which they are viewed. The first one viewed is easy to accommodate and be comfortable with. The second is either drab or electrified. Something like that. I of course preferred 1. In reverse order I gave 2 a much better chance.

No 3 is best for me!
And yes, please tell us how you accomplished No. 3 from the same straight out of the camera No. 1 photo.

Of the 3 I would go for no 1. 2 seems a bit too processed and artificial. 3 doesn't do anything for me except a bit of fun
