I'm having trouble deciding which pics to enter in an end-of-year contest for my photography club. I have one of them picked out on a prior thread (Team Aeroshell), but can enter up to three, B/W or color. I kind of want to add a jet pic and another prop pic, but it doesn't matter. Here are my current choices - I think they all have a shot IMHO.
I like the 2 jet pictures, the props are nice but not the same impact for me.
My votes go to the F35 Underside, and the Red Bull.
Now, I like the Pitts (#1) and the Blue Angels (#4): Seemingly impossible flying, then very, very, precision flying. The rest are good, too.

I looked at a video on You-Tube to see how to extend a background for the B/A pic...I didn't have enough space on the left side. In my attempt, I left a tiny extra bump on the bottom of the lead jet's nose...don't think it would be too visible from a normal viewing distance - it was my first try at it. I noticed that the little cross was quite a bit over to the right inside the original pic. Is there a way to vary the copy distance?? I kept on getting the nose into the area I was trying to fill in with sky.

I'd vote for #1--tells a story as apposed to #3 (a flying plane).
For my second it would go to #4--I like the pattern of the photo, and again tells a story--of precision as previously suggested (at least in my mind).
I also like #2, but I'd like to see more of the exhaust stream--i.e. both the fire and the smoke--maybe it'd be even more dramatic that way?
Good luck regardless of which you submit.

Having been lucky enough to have spent time in a Great Lakes putting it in "unusual attitudes", my prejudiced vote goes for #1. Being a Blue Angels Fan, that would be #2. All great shots. Wish I'd been there, as your shots bring the airshow smile to my face.... Thanks... John

Thanks...I always have fun! Last summer I rented an upgraded camera and lens just for the show. I think, overall, I got more keepers (but I still have to eventually throw out a vast majority of the 5k or so I took if I was realistic). I had one of my B/A shots printed on 11x14 aluminum - my first. You and the prior responder both picked the same two pics...looks like a pattern is emerging. Check out my pics on FB is you like.
I previously voted for #1 - now even more so after noticing it cutting the ribbon ...

Have to look into aluminum, new one on me. At 75 you'd think I'd run across most things!
My "airshow long shots" are with a D7500 and a FF Sigma 100 - 400 for the reach and light weight. My walk around and air to air are with a D-750 and 24- 120 lens. Been lucky enough to have all access passes at a number of shows and getting to know some of the performers.
Tried your facebook page, but since I don't have a Facebook account, didn't get very far! At air shows, you get planes, people and photography. Hard to get better than that!... Have fun, fly high..... John

I used a rented a77ii and a 70-400G2 (along with my normal a77 and 17-50). Here is my metal print...it's just stiffer than a paper print :)

I vote #3 which is the sharpest, you can make out a face to give the pilot a real feeling, and #1 in that order. If you are committed to a jet, #2 - F-35. The Angels need those emblems to be razor sharp to really sell the photo.

I like the jet photos. Especially the fire in the engine cone on the F35. Great photo. I am just a jet fan. I guess because I was an electronic tech on the F106 Delta Dart in the Air Force. Love to hear that after burner during take off.
