Speaking of Nova Scotia ....

Speaking of Nova Scotia, another Senior Center trip is being offered by Shoreline Tours , I've had good luck with this company and enjoyed the trips I've been on so far. Would some of you who know the area please cast an eye on this offering and give me your opinion .. I don't care much for the shows and I don't travel to eat in fancy restaurants I just want to see and photograph lighthouses, boats, cridders, and scenery. I like tours because they know where they are going and the trip has been run before and most of the bugs have been worked out. Plus they pick me up at my senior center and deliver me back there after the trip is over and I don't have to deal with parking lots and parking fees at airports, etc. I realize I can't always get to some of the places I'd like to go but life is a compromise. I will thank you for your advice in advance.

That itinerary seems to just about cover everything there is to see. It looks good.

I'd check this out on oak island off the coast of Nova Scotia

I have used Globus Tours to Nova Scotia and it was wonderful. However, I had to fly to Halifax where the tour began and had to fly back to New York when it ended. Your tour gives you white glove service, so to speak, and picks you up - a huge bonus as far as I am concerned. You will thoroughly enjoy the trip as I did. Many, many photo ops in this gorgeous locale. Have a great time, Dirty Harry.

I took a Caravan Tour of Nova Scotia last year. My wife and I had a wonderful time the guide was a local and had great stories to tell and knew the area well. We flew into NS and caught the bus to our hotel the NS Airport has great transportation to anywhere in the city. We then rode on a tour bus and got to meet new people and places everyday for 2 weeks. Great sites, great food good company not much else to ask for.

I've been to Nova Scotia 3 times. The first time was in 2005 on a personal auto tour and I didn't get much time there (https://www.flickr.com/photos/8712554@N02/sets/72157631915274197/). In 2011 my church choir did a cruise from Montreal to Boston and we visited Prince Edward Island and Sydney and Halifax, NS (Days 11, 12, and 13 of this Collection https://www.flickr.com/photos/8712554@N02/collections/72157632660401716/). And then in 2013 I took a Canada Rail tour that ended in Halifax, NS (https://www.flickr.com/photos/8712554@N02/sets/72157635104740318/). I especially enjoyed the motorcycle sidecar tour down to Peggy's Cove.

First post...Agreed with others that Nova Scotia is a great place with amazing scenic opportunities. One destination on the trip is Peggy's Cove which indeed is a "must," but only an hour or less away is Lunenburg, a World Heritage Sight and home of the Bluenose II. If it isn't on the itinerary, maybe the touring company would consider adding it.

Looks like a very good itinerary. I love Nova Scotia and I think you will too.

The main problem I’ve experienced with tours is being hurried at locations I would have liked to explore further. Also, seeing some great photo sights from a bus window as we zoomed by that I would have liked to have photographed. Bus windows are far from ideal.

I understand: however, tours have their positive points. I don't have to worry about car problems, they know where they are going, my trips are insured so if something goes wrong I'm covered, on several tours I was escorted to the front of the line while others were still standing in line (U.S.S Arizona Memorial & Vatican to name a couple), a lot of the auxiliary tours are reserve for our tour group and we don have to fit in, plus the Company picks us up and returns us to our local Senior Center. All I really worry about is is my camera battery charged, do I have enough room on my memory card, taking my lens cap off. You know, the hard stuff. oh, and do they serve food on the tour.
