Looking for a mid range tele zoom for my Fuji X-E2. I presently have the Fuji 18-55, and I want to add something longer like the Fuji XF 55-200, but I’m not that well-versed in the Fuji universe. I would appreciate comments by anyone who has this lens and/or any better alternative suggestions. Thanks in advance for any insights.

Sigma, who just rolled out a Sony E line, is supposedly producing Fuji compatible lenses.

Here you go again, dear fella ! That's 3-4 times you've made this pronouncement. I've asked you for credible details, and, as yet, a strange "reticence to respond" from your quarter.

Hey, I switched from Nikon to totally Fuji X ....... and 2-3 years ago, not yesterday, so I have "Fuji knowledge" and this point is of particular interest to me.

As another Fuji user has already requested above ....... a link, please? I've been trying to find something ever since you made your first pronouncement and can find nothing anywhere, Sigma websites, Fuji-related websites and forums, mirrorless websites ....... US, UK, rest of world ...... and nothing.

Why state this if you don't, can't or won't back up your statement?

Aren't you (supposedly) one of the "chosen few" to act as forum "gurus", to be respected as knowledgeable experts whom the group can rely on for the "truth" and believe? Erm ...... yeah ...... or no ! What?

If you can afford it, and they are available on the resell market, the XF50-140 is light years better than the 55-200. For extra reach you can use the x2 converter and have 280mm at f5.6.

I bought the 55 to 200. Nice on E2 and Xpro2. 50 to 140 is just too heavy. The exact opposite of my reason to move to Fuji.

I have both the 55-140 and 1.4 extender as well as the 55-200. The former is a great lens for weddings and the like but way too heavy as a walk around lens. I see you have Canon 5D gear so you may not mind the weight, but the 55-200 is a terrific lens (albeit with smaller apertures) and gets much more use.

Fuji glass exceeds expectations. There are lots of comparisons on You Tube that are fun to watch.

Thanks for the recommendations everyone. As one responder pointed out, I do have a a 5D3, which is exactly why I’m expanding my Fuji lens selection. When the chips are down, like my grandaughter’s musical in a low light auditorium or indoor sports or BIF, the FF Canon is worth every pound of weight, but as I get older, it’s less pleasant for a “walk-around” or travel camera, and that’s where the amazing “little” Fuji excels. Just over a pound, decent sized sensor, almost every feature you could want, and excellent lenses, but not quite the selection I’m used to seeing from Canon, hence my search for something roughly equivalent to the classic DSLR 70-200 f2.8. I was also thinking of the Fuji 100mm +the Fuji 1.4x extender to yield ~ 210mm as I find that my Canon 135 f2L +1.4 EX is substantially lighter (and actually sharper) than my 70-200 at 200mm. Has anyone tried that Fuji combination?

There is no such thing as a Fuji 100mm. There is a 90mm, but the 1.4 tele extender will not fit.

I am not a long lens user for the most part, and I find my Fujifilm XC50-230mm fine for my purposes. Less money and slightly lighter than the XF series lenses in build. It gets relatively good reviews and is considered good value for the money spent. Rated by some as under rated value.

I switched to the Fuji XT2 from Canon for many of the same reasons. I have 5 lenses and the 55-200 is great. Fuji has terrific glass. Just my opinion.

You are correct (senior moment I guess 😢), and thanks for the information concerning the extender.

Thanks Kuzano, what do you think about the IQ of the XC55-230 vs the XF55-200?
